Subordinate or related bodies
If a body is potentially subordinate or related to another body, first follow the options at Body whose name implies it is part of another to determine whether the body should be treated subordinately.
If the body should be treated subordinately:
- Apply the instructions at General guidelines for constructing authorized access points for subordinate or related corporate bodies to determine the form of the base access point.
- Then follow the general instructions at Corporate Body: access point for corporate body. Additional elements and designations in access points for corporate body.
If the body should be treated directly:

General guidelines for constructing authorized access points for subordinate or related corporate bodies

If the base access point for the subordinate body:
- includes the name of the higher body, and,
- the name of the higher body is not required for clarity,
then construct the base authorized access point by recording the authorized access point for the higher body, followed by the base access point for the subordinate body, omitting from the last the name of the higher body.

- includes the name of the higher body, and,
- the name of the higher body is required for clarity,
then construct the base authorized access point by recording the authorized access point for the higher body, followed by the base access point for the subordinate body, retaining in the last the name of the higher body.

Government officials
Government officials who are heads of named ministries or agencies: Record the authorized access point for the ministry or agency that the official represents.
Government officials who are not part of a ministry, or who are part of a ministry that is identified only by the title of the official: Construct the authorized access point for the official by recording the authorized access point for the place governed, followed by the preferred name that is the title of the official.
